The dress fit me quite well off the rack, I am 5'1" and at the time weighed ~95 lbs (!! not anymore don't worry!) Alterations were to take the dress in a bit at the waist and down through the skirt, as well as bring up the "trumpet" to start a bit higher on me (maybe 4 inches?) since I am so short and the dress is meant to flair at the knee. I had a decorative belt sewn on, that could easily be removed, it's only held by a few stitches. I also had cups added which could also be removed.
