Beautiful Vintage Simple Silk 3/4 Sleeve Scoop Neckline Sheath Wedding Dress Separates
Richard Tyler Bride from Saks Fifth Avenue, Beverly Hills
This elegant 2-piece wedding dress from Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills is made of high-quality Duchesse Satin. Size 4. I fell in love with the dress because it has understated elegance in its style seamlessly blending classic and modern details for a timeless bridal look.
The fitted top has an elegantly scooped neckline (perfect to set off your necklace!), a form-fitting bodice, and 3/4 length sleeves with 10 satin-covered buttons on each sleeve. The base of the top has a gently curved finish rather than simply being cut straight across. The back is similarly scooped to match the front—full zipper in the back, with a small tassel on the zipper pull.
To be sure I had something blue, the seamstress stitched a sweet little blue bow to the lining.
The floor-length skirt has a lovely, tasteful, train. The skirt is shaped slightly at the hips and then gracefully flows into a subtle mermaid flair. Side zipper.
Alterations: The top was altered minimally to cut in at my waist. The length of the skirt was taken up to fit my 5'4" frame and finished with a hand-stitched hem. While this is the length it sits at currently, there are 4 inches of material available to lengthen it.
In addition to the top and skirt, the seamstress, knowing I did not plan to wear a veil, designed three rosettes that were pinned in a cluster to the French bun in my hair. The rosettes are included in the sale.
Condition: The two pieces have no fabric flaws. The top has a small smudge in the back near the right shoulder blade area, and a smaller one on the left area. The skirt is spotless except for where the base of the hemline in the back meets the floor, and also along the base of the hemline of the train. From the outside, no marks are visible.
